BEST ICE CREAM EVER MADE. PERIOD.
This ice cream (technically) Gelato is going to be the end of me.
They sold out of it at New Season's and I thought I was going to Die
right there in the middle of the frozen isle.
But on my 4th of July grocery shopping adventure
at Fred Meyer I found it!
OH HAPPY DAY!
See those little chocolate pieces inside...?
well they are full of caramel.
Yep.
And there are not very many. So if you choose to share with someone
(i understand if you cant)
you need to keep one eye on the tub while you scoop your bites.
Otherwise.... those little chunks of heaven are gone before you know it.
What's your favorite ice cream or cold ice cream like treat?
Not that i'm planning on trying anything else ever again... : )
But I am curious what people gravitate to for this icy treat.

If anyone has an extra 400.00 sitting around let me know. (wink, wink ; )
Honestly, I don't think I could wear shoes this expensive...
I'd feel too bad wearing them outside!
But I could be happy to try and get over that!
(and while i'm at it, in my dream world, I'll take these outfits too!)

purl bee does it again.
Most of the projects that The Purl Bee posts I want to make.
This latest one is no exception.
I think it would be so cute hanging on the wall above the crib.
Where would you put yours?

I'm loving Jenny's new line. But I think my fav
(i think, it's hard to decide)
is this...
I could see myself wearing this Saffron dress ALL summer.
(sans baby belly of coarse)
Take a peek for yourself.
What's your favorite?

Now THIS i'd crochet!
It's such a simple pattern...
but that's precisely what makes it such a
beautiful, modern looking heirloom.
She chose great colors, which kept it away from being too old fashioned
(in an acrylic, ick sort of way).
I think this will be an adorable crib or bassinet blanket.
And if baby is not your world right now...

Brookly Tweed.

Yep... his own yarn. Grown and made right here in the USA. Beyond that he has some amazing patterns he's releasing to highlight this fabulous yarn.
Like it needs highlighting...
I'd hang it on the walls or in a bowl on the table if I didn't know how to knit...
because it's that beautiful!
If you're an Oregonian... and don't want to wait for it to be shipped because you LOVE it and want to cuddle with it in bed... well don't fret... because you can get it right here in good old PDX!
Great Job Jared! Really!

Woodland Hoodlet

Tiny Owl Knits aka owl in the dark just posted her new pattern. This darling hoodlet. I think it looks so cozy and perfect for the random Oregon drizzles we've been getting.
It's knits like this that help me welcome fall with a big smile.
And aren't her pictures so beautiful?!

Reversible Shrug progress.

My friend Lindsey came over with her son today.
He took a pretty long nap so I gave Linds a refresher coarse on knitting while we watched the latest Project Runway by way of Hulu. We covered cast on, knit stitch & purl stitch. She took it up again so quick and is off to a great start on a cozy scarf.
They just left and now I'm working on finishing the first sleeve before I go pick Olivia and her friend up from school.
*side note*
Using such giant knitting needles is fabulous people!! This shrug is coming along so fast!
In other news...I finished my worsted weight version of the little man beanie with brim this morning.
SO CUTE!
I like it even better than the finger weight one. I don't have modeled pictures yet. But going to nab those this weekend!

malabrig shrug.

I'm working on a reversible over sized shrug. I think it's going to be able to double as a giant chunky scarf too!

soft yarn + fall weather = happy rachel.
I'm so excited to get this done so I can wear it but even more excited to finish the patter. Because it's over sized and slouchy... each size covers a wider range. So I'll be writing this for 3 size options but they will cover XS - 3XL.
And this yarn.... yum! It's a worsted Malabrigo from my stash in color Buscando Azul. *swoon*
(so all you knitters... can I get a "proud-a-you girl" hug? I've been knitting from my stash for over a year now. That's right... no yarn purchases in what feels like a lifetime. Feels good, feels good! One of these days I'm going to have to take some pictures of my stash. It's kind of embarrassing! I have a stores worth of yarn in my spare bedroom. no lie!)

Blocked & Modeled.

I found an ADORABLE model for the baby cap. This is Ovid. My friend Lindsey's son. I'm watching him today while she is at work and I'm in love with him. He is the sweetest!
The cap is a bit small for him but does the trick better than the previous pictures.... non-blocked hat stuffed with tissue paper. hee hee. (It's amazing what a good blocking did for this hat... especially the brim!)
I'm going to test knit a larger size. Something that would fit a child Ovid's age. The yarn will be worsted instead of fingering and the brim of the hat will be wider for the larger size. I'll post pictures of that version next week and hopefully by then the pattern will be done as well.
