I'm in love with this burp cloth trio I found on etsy. 

Aren't the fabrics so baby boy perfect?

(Did i just say I'm in love with burp clothes?

 oh god... here we go.)

Small socks, 2 at a time, with some stash Koigu. 

Think I'll make a matching hat too!

It's a beautiful evening here in Oregon.

I know we are!!

I've known that with this little guy I wanted to use a sling to cary him around. 

I'll still use a stroller when needed but i really want to have him close to me 

when he is a little guy. 

So I have been looking for something that I can use in the cooler months
but with a fabric that will transition well into spring and summer next year.
It has to be useful for an infant as well
as a 12-18 month old. 

I came across Sakura Slings and I think this is THE ONE!

They come in beautiful color combos 

and have the option of being 1 or 2 layers of Linen. 

My favorite is the two tone two layer option. 

I think this would be warm enough in the cool months 

(as long as I layer his clothes) 

and really nice and breathable for the hot days.

Must make this fabulous book mobile!!

I think it would be so cute hanging on the wall above the crib.

After a few false starts with stash yarn choices
I finally landed on this color combo.

browns, grays.

BUT

Being that I'm not a seasoned crocheter....

I realized after 12 rows in... 

that I was doing the fan portion of this pattern all wrong. 

***rip***

bummer. 

Oh well, I'm learning something new so that makes it a little less painful.

 I am really happy with this color combo, but if I had the cash flow I'd 

go buy the yarn pictured bellow... 

I just love that gray and green together!

Joelle posted about her crocheted blanket here on the Purl Bee blog and I couldn't love it more. 

It's such a simple pattern...
but that's precisely what makes it such a
beautiful, modern looking heirloom.


She chose great colors, which kept it away from being too old fashioned
(in an acrylic, ick sort of way).


I think this will be an adorable crib or bassinet blanket.
And if baby is not your world right now...

it would be a perfect lap blanket or picnic blanket.
