My hair is naturally curly and and so easy to take care of when it's got some length to it. Just jump out of the shower and go! Weee! So if I let my hair go closer to my natural color and grow it out I wouldn't have to worry about keeping up with the salon appointments.
BUT
I really do love my hair short. It fits my personality i think. And the light color keeps my short hair looking more "PDX fashionista" rather than "soccer mom blah"

love the short blond look but the expense must be killer. try growing the color out and keeping it short so you only pay for a haircut then if your aren't happy with the hipness let it grow and grow! i'm going back to long myself!
